Fatal collision, Bridgerule, Holsworthy

We are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision in Bridgerule, Holsworthy.

Officers were called at around 3pm to the B3254 on Friday 16 January following a two-vehicle collision involving a silver Ford Focus and a red Ford Fiesta.

Sadly, the passenger of the Fiesta, an 82-year-old woman, passed away in hospital on Saturday. Her next of kin have been informed and will be supported by a specially trained officer.

The driver of the Fiesta, aged in his 70s, remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition. His next of kin have been informed.

The two occupants of the Focus were taken to hospital with serious injuries which are not being treated as life-threatening or life-changing.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed for an investigation to take place at the scene.
